Today’s picture shows an ancient Khmer manuscript written on palm leaves. Such manuscripts, often called “ollas” or “lontar,” (Khmer: សាស្ត្រាស្លឹករឹត sāstrā sleuk reut) were traditionally used in Cambodia to preserve Buddhist texts, folklore, and scholarly works. The intricate script and careful preservation highlight the manuscript’s cultural and historical significance.
