Mandatory custom declaration of imported goods from Thailand

The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia has issued a notification, dated 12 June 2025 about the mandatory custom declarations that must be made by all importers of vegetables, fruits and petroleum and gas products from Thailand in Cambodia.

Below is the non-official translation of the notification provided by Simili Consulting:

Notification

To strengthen the management and customs declaration of imported goods, ensure effective and transparent control, and facilitate accurate tax collection, the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia informs all importers as follows:

A. Vegetables and Fruits

B. Petroleum and Gas Products:

The following petroleum and gas products must be declared in accordance with category B:

Gasoline

Diesel

Petroleum gas (LPG and LNG)

Fuel oil

Jet fuel (Jet-A1)

Importers/owners of the above products for domestic distribution must declare them within two (2) days after arrival at the customs checkpoint/border gate/port in Cambodia.

Failure to declare as per the above procedures and timeline constitutes a customs violation and will result in the confiscation of goods and imposition of penalties as prescribed by law.

All customs officers at checkpoints, border gates, ports, and all relevant parties must strictly implement this regulation.

This notice goes into effect from the date of signing.
