Picture of the day: Naga Guardian Lintel at Phnom Chisor Pagoda

A serene Buddha figure rises above the doorway, cradled by twin naga forms that echo centuries of Khmer spiritual artistry at Phnom Chisor in Takeo province. Soft turquoise stonework curls into floral motifs, blending Hindu inspired serpent symbolism with living Buddhist devotion in this modern hilltop pagoda. Under the shade of nearby trees, the lintel feels both protective and welcoming, a quiet threshold between everyday life and the mountain temple’s inner peace.
