Preah Ream (left) and his brother Preah Leak (right) ride Hanuman and Sugrib across a turbulent sky, racing toward Krong Reap’s island fortress of Langka. The mural’s weathered pigments and Khmer-style armor give the Ramayana story a distinctly Cambodian soul, merging Hindu epic with local imagination. It is a quiet yet tense moment before battle, where faith, loyalty, and the monkey army’s courage carry Cambodia’s Reamker into living color. The mural is in the Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh.
