Picture of the day: Apsara Skirt Motifs and the Louis Vuitton Connection

On this sandstone Apsara skirt, each grid holds a subtle floral Kbach motif, echoing the disciplined elegance of Preah Khan’s sacred geometry. The repeating flowers and squares feel unexpectedly familiar, recalling the modern Louis Vuitton monogram while remaining rooted in Khmer cosmology and royal dance costume. Seen up close, the texture, craftsmanship, and symbolic rhythm invite us to rethink “luxury design” as a dialogue between ancient Cambodian art and global fashion. This Apsara is in Preah Khan temple, near the two-storied pavilion.
