This serene bronze Avalokiteśvara (Khmer: អវលោកិតេស្វរ), also known as Lokeśvara (Khmer: លោកិតេស្វរ), sits in quiet contemplation, embodying timeless compassion in the heart of Phnom Penh’s National Museum. Soft museum light glides over the statue’s smooth torso and folded legs, revealing the refinement of classical Cambodian craftsmanship. The image invites slow looking, connecting today’s visitors with centuries of Buddhist devotion and Khmer artistic heritage.
