Prasat Ta Moan Thom, straddling the modern Thai-Cambodian border, was once a powerful frontier sanctuary of the Khmer Empire. Recent finds such as leaf‑ and square‑shaped gold plaques and a gold ring highlight the temple’s role as a prestigious religious and political outpost. These delicate objects, now preserved in the Surin National Museum (Thailand) reveal the refined craftsmanship of Baphuon‑style Khmer goldsmiths between the 11th and 12th centuries.
