Cambodian festivals are a cherished time for family reunions. During Pchum Ben, one of the most beloved traditional foods is ansam (Khmer: អន្សម)—a cylindrical sticky rice cake filled with pork or banana, and other ingredients, wrapped in banana leaves, and slowly boiled until tender. The preparation of ansam is a meaningful tradition, often carried out by Khmer women, as shown in this video.
