Khmers are a romantic people! This fact is reflected in many areas: poetry, songs, movies, series… even in slogans for products!
The picture below shows a slogan printed on the packaging of tissues. The text says: “ទន់ដូចមាត់អូន” (tun doch moat on), “as soft as your lips”! (The word អូន means little sister/brother, it is commonly used by Cambodian men as an affectionate pronoun to address their lover or wife.)
