Cambodia is opening its doors wider than ever to the world, inviting international travel professionals to experience its living heritage, lush nature and vibrant cities firsthand. Through the ambitious “500 Agents FAM Trip 2026” initiative, the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) is turning the Kingdom’s tourism potential into concrete itineraries for travelers from every continent.

Since May 2026, CTB has already hosted 145 international travel agents on immersive familiarization trips across the country. These visits take agents beyond brochures and websites, allowing them to walk through the temples of Angkor, explore coastal towns like Kep and Kampot, discover the islands off Sihanoukville, and feel the energy of Phnom Penh’s riverfront and Siem Reap’s creative scene. By experiencing Cambodia on the ground, agents are better equipped to design new tours, build partnerships with local hotels, DMCs and tour operators, and confidently recommend Cambodia to their clients as a compelling long-haul or regional destination.

The program also supports Cambodia’s positioning as a Year-Round Destination built around four distinctive tourism pillars: Culture, Coastlines and Islands, Nature, and City Vibe. Participants learn that Cambodia is much more than Angkor Wat, discovering lesser-known heritage sites, community-based tourism experiences, eco‑adventures in forests and protected areas, and contemporary urban culture. These deeper insights encourage longer stays, repeat visits, and more diverse itineraries that spread benefits across the country, from major hubs to emerging destinations.

To make participation attractive and accessible, CTB provides financial and in‑kind support to eligible hosts. The initiative offers a subsidy of up to USD 500 per agent to help cover international flights and selected on‑ground arrangements, ensuring travel professionals can experience Cambodia’s hospitality and tourism services at a high standard. Destination Management Companies, hotels, airlines, tour operators, travel agencies and other registered tourism businesses are invited to use these funds to organize FAM trips until the end of October 2026. While the allocation for agents from India is already fully booked, opportunities remain for travel professionals from Europe, ASEAN, Russia and the CIS, China, Japan and South Korea, and the Americas and Oceania. For Wonders of Cambodia readers, this initiative signals an exciting new chapter: more creative Cambodia itineraries, richer cultural encounters, and a wider global spotlight on the Kingdom’s year‑round wonders.
