Picture of the day: Khmer New Year Angel Altar at Home

In this quiet Cambodian countryside courtyard, a family altar overflows with bright flowers, fruit, and sweet drinks, ready to welcome the Khmer New Year angel into their home. The offerings of seasonal fruit, sticky rice cakes, incense, and water echo the same ceremony seen in pagodas, but here it unfolds on a simple household table, where everyday life meets devotion. As the New Year begins, this small universe of light, color, and fragrance invites blessings of protection, prosperity, and gentle transitions for the months ahead.
