Bright pink bougainvillea, known in Khmer as phka krodas (ផ្កាក្រដាស), spills over a weathered fence and colors an ordinary Cambodian street with tropical joy. Its delicate, paper-like bracts frame the tiny white flowers hidden inside, a classic sight from village homes to city courtyards across the country. Common throughout Southeast Asia’s warm climate, this hardy ornamental vine turns everyday corners of Cambodia into living walls of color.
