Picture of the day: Hand‑Rolled Tree‑Leaf Cigarettes in Battambang

In rural Battambang, tobacco is sometimes still hand‑rolled in fresh green tree leaves instead of factory paper, preserving a very old Khmer smoking custom. The leaves of several local species can be used depending on what grows near the village. These rustic cigarettes are cheap, aromatic, and deeply tied to everyday life and memory for many Cambodian farmers.
