Did you know foreign residents in Cambodia can visit Angkor Wat FREE for an entire year? If you’ve lived here legally for 2+ years, you’re eligible for a complimentary annual pass to the Angkor Archaeological Park and Koh Ker Temple. Here’s everything you need to know about applying online or in-person! 🏛️✨

Foreign residents who have lived legally in Cambodia for at least two years are eligible for a free annual pass to the Angkor Archaeological Park and Koh Ker Temple through the Free Angkor Pass program, which launched in September 2022 and remains operational.
To qualify for the free pass, you must be a foreigner who has maintained legal residence in Cambodia for two years or more. This includes diplomats, embassy staff, retirees, investors, business owners, foreign workers, NGO employees, public and private sector experts, and their immediate families. While the guidelines specify two years of residence, applications are typically accepted if you can demonstrate two years’ worth of ordinary visas, even if you haven’t physically lived in Cambodia for the full two years yet.
You’ll need to provide three items: a copy of your valid passport, proof of at least two years of legal residence in Cambodia (visa stamps on your passport), and one recent 4×6 cm passport-sized photo taken within the last six months.
You can apply online at spass.angkorenterprise.gov.kh by filling out the form and uploading your documents. For the photo requirement, the online system allows you to take a photo directly on your device and upload it. Alternatively, you can apply in person at the Angkor Enterprise office located on Apsara Road in Siem Reap during business hours (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM). Online applications are typically approved within three days.
Pass Benefits and Validity Once approved, your free pass is valid for one year from the date of issuance and allows free entry to the Angkor Archaeological Park (including Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm…) and Koh Ker complex. If you apply online, you’ll receive a digital ticket with a QR code via email that gets scanned at ticket checkpoints. The right to apply for a free pass resets annually, allowing you to renew each year if you continue to meet the residency requirements.
