Picture of the day: Cambodian Sesame Doughnuts

Golden and crisp, these sesame-studded doughnuts, known in Khmer as នំប៉ោង (num paong), are a familiar Cambodian treat. Their hollow centers give them a wonderfully light texture, while the sesame seeds add a gentle nutty crunch. Simple, inexpensive, and deeply Cambodian, they belong to the everyday food memories that make a city feel like home.
