Cambodia is stepping confidently onto the global stage as one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting emerging destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). In 2026, Siem Reap welcomed more than 500 Indian incentive delegates for a week-long corporate program, highlighting how the Kingdom now combines professional event infrastructure with unforgettable cultural experiences.
The group, from India’s MSP Steel & Power Limited, was hosted by Asian Trails Cambodia in partnership with Thomas Cook India and supported by the Cambodia Tourism Board. Over seven days in Siem Reap, top dealers and business partners enjoyed gala dinners, festive evenings, and tailor-made excursions that showcased the best of Cambodia’s tourism offering. Beyond the iconic Angkor temples, delegates discovered adventure activities such as Angkor Zipline and quad bike rides through the countryside, as well as visits to artisan centers including Satcha and Artisans Angkor, where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creativity meet. For many participants, it was a rare chance to experience a destination that blends spiritual heritage, village life, and modern hospitality in a single trip.
This successful incentive confirms Cambodia’s strong potential for large corporate groups, especially from the fast-growing Indian market. Event organizers emphasize the wide range of quality hotels, professional ground services, and experienced local partners that now make it easier to plan complex programs in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. At the heart of this transformation is the new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, a US$1.1 billion gateway designed to handle millions of visitors each year and reinforce the city’s role as the main entry point to the Angkor Archaeological Park. Complemented by major road upgrades and world-class venues, Siem Reap is no longer just a temple stopover; it is becoming a full-fledged hub for international incentives and conferences.
Recent and upcoming events underline this momentum. In June, Siem Reap hosted the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) World Conference, adding a global civil-society gathering to its calendar. Earlier in May, the National Bank of Cambodia brought together Francophone central bank governors for a high-profile financial summit. Looking ahead, the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026 will draw delegates from more than 90 countries, further boosting Cambodia’s visibility and tourism potential. As more organizations look for destinations that combine culture, connectivity, and authentic experiences, Cambodia is positioning itself as a compelling choice for MICE events in Southeast Asia.
