Cambodian artist Nout Daro’s “A New Day” beautifully blends surrealism and natural symbolism, transforming wilted lotus leaves and blossoms into the playful form of a stretching animal, suggesting renewal from decay. The lively dragonfly circling overhead adds a sense of hope and anticipation, reinforcing the cyclical resilience of life. The composition celebrates Khmer cultural motifs and evokes feelings of optimism and transformation as a new day begins.
Nout Daro (Khmer: ណូត ដារ៉ូ) was born in 1991 in Kandal Province.
