Most Cambodian pagoda gates are guarded by lions, elephants, or mythical creatures, but Wat Prek Bangkang in Kandal Province surprises visitors with a pair of giant Mekong lobsters. Their unusual presence celebrates the river that has shaped local life, culture, and livelihoods for generations. It is a delightful reminder that every Cambodian temple has its own story waiting to be discovered.
