Angkor Wat is a vast 12th‑century temple‑mountain in Siem Reap, built by King Suryavarman II and famed as the world’s largest religious monument. Its five towers symbolize Mount Meru, while moats and galleries form a sacred microcosm of the Hindu-Buddhist universe. Today it is Cambodia’s national icon and the best-known site within the Angkor UNESCO World Heritage park.
